On demand taxi / minibus service available at all times to / from Heaphy Track. Including bike transfers.
Passenger and small freight service to Westport and connecting services. Heaphy and Wangapeka Track transport. Bus charters, rental vehicles, and on demand taxi service, (options for same day service to Nelson, Golden Bay, Motueka, Picton, Blenheim).
Karamea Express links Karamea and Westport (adult/child $27/17, 1½ hours, 7.50am Monday to Friday May to October, plus Saturday from November to April), departing the Last Resort. Cunningham’s Coaches (03-789 7177; 179 Palmerston St, Westport) does this trip as a mail run ($20, three hours, 5.45pm weekdays), departing from Karamea Hardware.
Karamea Express also services Kohaihai at the southern end of the Heaphy Track, departing Kohaihai at 1pm and 2pm during summer; phone for prices and off-season times. It also services the Wangapeka Track on demand. There are phones at both trailheads to arrange transport out to Karamea. |

Top of the South Motorcycle Rentals was set up by David Arnot to cater for the needs of fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. David has had a lifelong love of motorcycles and has owned a range of motorcycles from modern to vintage to motocross.
The Top of the South which (in our totally biased opinion) has everything: sun, sand, mountains...
We are based at its hub - a stones throw from Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, Marlborough Sounds and Golden Bay - in Motueka, which basks in year round sun and is a mecca for motorcyclists.
We aim to please and to give you the options to ride some of the worlds best and little-travelled bitumen highways, to back roads and (if you wish) to dirt.
Our range of bikes caters for all needs and includes the Suzuki AZ50 Scooter, the peppy dual purpose Suzuki DR 200, and the silky running long legged Triumph Bonneville, which can carry you with ease to visit the paradise which is the wider South Island. |
